As a photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing the magic of DC’s Dancing Stars Gala for the third time, and this year’s event was nothing short of extraordinary. The gala brought together inspiring individuals, breathtaking performances, and a shared mission to make a difference—all in one spectacular evening.
DC’s Dancing Stars Gala is more than just an event—it’s a movement that brings the community together through the joy of dance and the power of giving. This year’s gala featured incredible dancers, celebrity emcees, judges, and alumni, all joining forces to raise over $300,000 for local charities. Every twirl, dip, and cheer symbolized not only the passion for dance but also a shared commitment to making a difference. This spectacular night was a celebration of talent, generosity, and the unity of a community coming together for a greater good.
This year’s gala welcomed Julie Donaldson, a committee member and celebrated figure in sports media, for her third year as emcee. Julie, a former Washington Commanders executive and gameday broadcaster, brought unmatched charisma and energy to the stage. Award-winning sports anchor Darren Haynes also returned as an emcee, bringing charm, professionalism, and passion to the 2024 gala. A former WUSA9 host, Darren connected effortlessly with the audience, adding warmth and excitement to the event. Together, Julie and Darren made the night unforgettable, blending star power and heart with their dynamic presence.
The 2024 DC’s Dancing Stars Gala welcomed Chelsie Hightower back as a celebrity judge for the sixth time. Known for her incredible talent on Dancing with the Stars, Chelsie brought her expertise and charm to the judging panel once again.
Joining her was Melanie Wilking Ekeler, a dancer and TikTok sensation celebrated for sharing her love of dance worldwide.
One of the standout participants in this year’s DC’s Dancing Stars Gala is Janaki Kates, a corporate dancer with an impressive background.
